Dear Locklears:
Words cannot express my deep love for Teresa. Simply stated: she was the best friend I ever had and perhaps, ever will have. She was not just a friend, but she was my family member--- as I was closer to her than I ever had been, reciprocally, to anyone in my life. I will miss her terribly. I pray God grants you peace of mind as your family faces her parting. She's loved.
Sincerest condolences,
Pam Skarda

To Teresa's Family and Friends,
I felt very grateful and honored to be with you all to celebrate Teresa's life yesterday. Teresa embraced life with determination, generosity, laughter and kindness. She has certainly touched my life and I feel truly blessed to have know her and have been her friend. When I hear the words, "soul sister" I will always think of her. Even in June when she must have not been well, she took the time to wish me a happy birthday and referred to me as her "soul sister." I will think of her in these ways and remember her most especially on June 15 and August 8, her beginning and end in this life. Now she is free and lives in a state of peace, joy and love where there is only light and love. Her generous spirit lives on and with each of us.
Thank you to Beth, Dave, and their children, Sage and Noah and to Teresa's brother, John, for taking such good care of her. Thank you to Pam Skarda for being such a good friend to Teresa and for keeping her friends informed. It was a great honor to meet Teresa's dad, John, and her siblings, John, Tracy and Beth. Thank you to those who organized and helped with the memorial service and the event afterwards. I enjoyed hearing all of the stories about Teresa, her time at the beach house with her family and friends, and being there with all of you. I miss Teresa but feel better after having spent time with those she loves and cares about the most. May we all be filled with more love and light to share with others as Teresa did. Now we have one more angel on our side!
Love and Blessings,
Karen
A few of us were talking about doing the Susan G. Komen Foundation Walk in honor of Teresa. It turns out that the 3 day walk in DC is next weekend, 9/23-9/25 and it's closed to walkers. However, I did see that they use volunteers. I don't know if that's open still.
Also, the Breast Cancer Fund, a fund through the American Cancer Society, is having smaller walks on October 9 in MD and October 29 in DC. The one in DC is 3 and 1/2 miles and starts down at the Mall. I am interested in doing the walk on 10/29 here in DC.
Also, we could register for the 3 Day Walk for the Cure with Susan G. Komen for next year. The dates are in October 2012.
